This lighthouse painting is of the Fire Island Lighthouse on Fire Island, Long Island , NY. The island in the distance is Captree Island, a departure location for the Captree Island fishing fleets. The bridge is the Robert Moses causeway going to Robert Moses State Park. Ironically, I grew up just three miles from the Robert Moses State Park, but didn’t paint this scene until I had moved from the Long Island beaches of the south shore (West Islip) to the Long Island beaches of the north shore (Setauket), but I always had to live close to the Long Island beaches.
