I very much enjoyed studying the different species of palms for this tropical series of paintings. It is only through sketching in my sketchbook that I gained an appreciation of the palm species. Perhaps I had been preoccupied with the colorful floral displays that the tropical plants had placed before my eyes. The sketchbook forced me to look upward towards the symmetrically elegant palm species. These two tropical paintings, Tropical Mosaic VI & Tropical Mosaic VII, belong to the Palms! Even the sky and sand were modified to complement the majesty of this species.
     Yes, I did take artistic liberty to adapt species and/or color of foliage to my needs… I wanted the final outcome to be MY interpretation of tropical! Accept the artistic liberties I have taken, and enjoy these tropical beach paintings.
